Maintaining the Golf Course
To maintain the pristine condition of our golf course at Gold Creek Country Club and ensure an enjoyable experience for all players, we kindly request adherence to the following guidelines:
Greens:
• Repair any plug marks on the
greens. Start at the back and work towards the centre.
• Gently tap down repaired areas with your putter.
• Be mindful when placing bags or handling flagsticks to prevent damage to greens and holes.
• Mark your ball on the green with a coin or suitable marker to avoid unnecessary damage.
Fairways:
• Replace divots or fill them with sand to keep the surface smooth.
• When fixing divots – clear loose turf, fill with sand, and level off with care.
Bunkers:
• Smooth out footprints in bunkers using the provided rakes.
• Leave the rake at the base of the bunker, facing the direction of play.
• Enter and exit bunkers from the lowest point to avoid damaging bunker faces.
Carts:
If you are using a golf cart, please adhere to the following guidelines to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all:
• Follow Signage: Obey all posted signs and move onto the cart paths around the greens. No carts are to be driven inside the “black lined” areas around greens
• Avoid Sensitive Areas: Do not drive between greenside bunkers and putting greens.
• Respect Tees: Give the teeing areas ample space and avoid driving on or near them.
• Maintain Appropriate Speed: Drive at a pace consistent with your partner’s walking speed.

LOB/PLUG MARKS ON GREENS
A player should ensure that any damage to the putting green made by the ball or other players is carefully repaired
Ball Marks
• Always start at the back of the mark and push forward with the repairer
• Use repairer around all sides and slowly ease turf toward the centre of the mark. Do not lift the soil upwards.
• Lightly tap down with putter
Divots
• Remove any loose turf from the affected area
• Knock in all sides of the edge of the divot
• Pour sand over the divot (do not overfill) and using your club or shoe, level off the area
DAMAGE TO THE GREENS
Players should ensure that, when putting down bags, or the flagstick, no damage is done to the putting green. Caution should be taken that damage does not occur to the hole by standing close to it, handling the flagstick or by removing the ball from the hole. The flagstick should be properly replaced in the hole before the players leave the putting green. Players are allowed to wheel carry bags across greens, however extreme care is to be taken not to damage the green.
BUNKER CARE
Always;
• Leave the rake at the base of the bunker facing the direction of play
• Enter and leave the bunker from the lowest point not up or down the face
• Use the back of the rake on faces. Avoid bringing sand onto walk-ins by pushing excess back from edge
• Always leave rake in the flat of the bunker adjacent to an entry point with the handle parallel to the line of flight of the hole being played
Do not;
• Enter or exit bunkers on the face
• Loosen the sand by the rake tynes as the ball will not roll away from the lip. Instead, turn the rake over and use the back to smooth the slopes
• Leave the rake out of correct position as the rake will retain the ball against the lip
Carts
Golf carts can only be driven by players who been given permission to do so. Users are required to adhere to the guidelines governing the use of motorised carts. In general, players should adhere to the following guidelines:
• Obey all directional signs
• Must not drive within six metres of any green
• Must not drive between greenside bunkers and greens
• Must avoid tees where possible
• Must avoid all areas where damage might occur
• No more than two people to ride in a cart
• Must not drive faster than your partner’s walking pace
